Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FMS uses, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

Effective September 20, 2026

1. Overview

FMS — Family Mood System (“FMS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps members of a private family group share current attitude and temperament reports. This Privacy Policy applies to the FMS mobile app and this website.

FMS is not an emergency, medical, mental-health, or monitoring service. Do not use FMS as a substitute for professional care or emergency assistance.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information, such as your email address and display name.
  • Family-group information, including membership and invitations.
  • PIREPs and related content, such as status selections, comments, timestamps, and reporter attribution.
  • Messages or information you send when requesting support.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot FMS.
  • Push-notification tokens and notification preferences.
  • Basic service logs, such as access times, error information, and network requests.

FMS does not need your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or advertising identifier for its core service unless a future feature clearly asks for permission first.

3. How we use information

  • Provide accounts, family groups, PIREPs, ATIS views, history, and notifications.
  • Authenticate users and protect the service from misuse.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve reliability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not sell personal information or use family mood reports for third-party advertising.

4. When information is shared

Your PIREPs and related content are shared with authorized members of your family group. We may also share limited information with service providers that host data, deliver authentication email, or send push notifications, solely as needed to operate FMS. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate protections.

5. Data retention

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type. When information is deleted, limited backup copies may remain temporarily before routine deletion.

6. Your choices

You may update certain account information in FMS, manage notification permissions in your device settings, leave a family group where available, and request access to or deletion of your account information. Some information may be retained where legally required or necessary for security and dispute resolution.

7. Children’s privacy

FMS is designed for family use but is not directed to children under 13 acting independently. A parent or legal guardian should create or authorize any account used by a child and supervise that use. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and address it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your sign-in access and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FMS changes. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes may also be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method.

10. Contact

Privacy and account-deletion contact details will be published here before FMS becomes publicly available. Until then, use the support contact option provided in the FMS app.
